Last year we raffled off a bunch of Caps stuff to raise money for Parkinson’s research. This year, the raffle is back and better than ever.
Here’s what the winner of the raffle will receive:
- An autographed TJ Oshie stick
- Two tickets to see the Caps on January 11 vs Carolina (Section 408, Row A; That’s first row of the upper bowl, behind the goal that the Caps shoot at twice)
- A Caps fleece blanket
Raffle tickets are $10 or 3 for $25.
To enter the raffle:
- Send an e-mail to hendrii@verizon.net. Please include “Caps Raffle” in the subject line. The response might not be immediate but we will get back to you with info on where to send payment, hopefully within 24 hours. Generally, we can accept checks and PayPal for payments, but wait until you hear back to send payment.
- Once your entry is processed, a photo of your tickets will be e-mailed to you. We’re sending a photo of your tickets instead of mailing them due to limited time and other resources.
- The winner will be drawn via a live webcast on November 12. A link to the webcast will be sent to all those who enter.
The proceeds from the raffle will go to support my cousin Kevin, who is running in the NYC Marathon for Team Fox to support Parkinson’s research. All of the money donated to Kevin’s fundraiser will go to Team Fox, the grassroots community fundraising program at The Michael J. Fox Foundation. I can’t say enough good things about the work Team Fox does for Parkinson’s research.
This cause became personal to me a little over six years ago when my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The grace and determination she has shown while living with Parkinson’s has been the most inspiring lesson of my life. Thank you for considering the cause.
Update: If you live within the continental US and can’t pick up the stick, we will handle the shipping costs. Winners from any other location will need to pay the price of shipping if they win.
